St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church is a vibrant mid-sized parish located in downtown Edwardsville, Illinois – a rapidly growing university community. Our parish was founded in 1841 and is dedicated to serving God and our community through worship and the work of our ministries.
We are one of 40 congregations that make up the Episcopal Diocese of Springfield. The Diocese offices are in Springfield, Illinois. The Diocese of Springfield includes the area east of the Illinois River and Woodford, Livingston, Ford, and Iroquois counties.
The Episcopal Church is comprised of 109 dioceses in 16 nations. As part of the Jesus Movement, the Episcopal Church is following Jesus into loving, liberating and life-giving relationship with God, with each other and with the earth. The Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church is The Most Rev. Michael Bruce Curry.
The Episcopal Church is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, which traces its heritage to the beginnings of Christianity. Today the Anglican Communion comprises more than 80 million members in 44 regional and national member churches in more than 165 countries. At the head of the Anglican Communion is the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby.

Vestry | Leadership Team
Our nine-member Leadership Team or Vestry constitutes the lay leadership of our parish and they act under the bylaws of our parish. The leadership team meets monthly on the second Wednesday evening and the Rector serves as the presiding officer.

St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Edwardsville was established in 1841 under its first rector, The Reverend Joseph Darrow.
